RIMC Entrance Exam 2025 -  Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Exam acronym RIMC Entrance Exam is conducted by Rashtriya Indian Military College on All India basis twice (June, December) in a year for providing admission to boys in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun - an Inter-Services Institution and a Category ‘A’ establishment of the Ministry of Defence established in 1922 - with the primary aim of preparing the boys for entry into Defence Services and to provide a quality all-round education to young boys.

Candidates are admitted to the Eighth Class through RIMC Entrance Exam.

RIMC Entrance Exam 2025 Eligibility 

Educational Qualification

• Aspiring Candidates should either be studying in Class VII or passing Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC.

Age Limits

• Aspiring candidates appearing for RIMC Entrance Exam should not be less than 11½ years of age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as of 01 Jan of the respective year.

RIMC Entrance Exam 2024 Syllabus

RIMC Entrance Exam consists of questions from the basic syllabus till 7th Class.

RIMC Entrance Exam 2024 Pattern

RIMC Entrance Exam consists of a Written Exam followed by Vica Voce and Medical Examination.

• The entrance test will be conducted in an offline mode (written examination).
• The question paper will be a total of 400 marks
• The question paper consists of three subjects viz. English, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
• The exam is conducted in two phases/papers. English and Mathematics exam i.e., paper one is conducted on the first day and General knowledge i.e., paper two is conducted on the second day.
• The medium of the exam will be both Hindi and English for Mathematics and General knowledge papers.
• Candidates must score 50% to qualify for the written examination.

Written Examination

The written part of the examination will consist of three papers:

Viva Voce

• The interview will be 50 marks and held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam.
• The intelligence and personality of the candidates will be tested in the interview. 

Medical Examination

• The candidates finally selected after the viva-voce will undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC.
• The medical examination of the candidates forms only a part of the system of selection and does not imply the final selection. 

RIMC Entrance Exam Qualifying marks

Minimum pass marks in each paper including the interview will be 50%.

How to apply for RIMC Entrance Exam 2024?

• Aspiring candidates can obtain prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers by registered post/speed post by sending a written request with an account payee bank demand draft of the requisite fee.

Note

• The address should be TYPED / WRITTEN clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with pin code and contact number.
• RIMC will NOT be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit of prospectus caused by illegible or incomplete address.
• Locally printed or photocopied and without RIMC Hologram (Seal) forms will be rejected.

Applications in duplicate on prescribed form accompanied by documents to be attached with application form two passport size photographs, Birth Certificate (issued by Municipal Corporation/Gram Panchayat, SC, ST Certificate and Certificate from the principal of the School in original with a photograph on it attested stating the date of birth and in which Class studying. Application forms should reach the respective Govts (as specified in the press note) of the States, where their parents /guardians normally reside on or before the Last Date.

Important: Kindly note the application forms must be sent to the respective State Govts and not to the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, else the form will be invalid.
